My Max

Max is almost 2 and I probably should wait till next month to post but I am just really having a hard time with knowing that he is getting big so quick. He is doing so many new things and it's just crazy to me how someone can learn so much in such a short amount of time.
Max is a silly kid and is always making me laugh. He is talking so much and we can have a little conversation even. He can pronounce words pretty good and will copy anything you say. So needless to say, we are having to watch we say too. :) Football games get heated around our house and we have had to learn that little ears are listening! :) One of my favorite things he says is traintastic!

He is really into Thomas the Train right now. He loves to play with his trains, sleep with his Thomas blanket, watch Thomas the Train movies, and loves anything to do with Thomas!! It is kind of cute but than a little stressful when I forget his blanket or when someone else wants to play with his trains. He is very possessive over his trains. We are trying to teach him how to share........ key word trying!
Max is eating better but still not the greatest. You know when he doesn't like something because he will just simply throw it back up! It is gross and I get frustrated when he does it but than again, if I didn't like something than I guess I would want to throw it up too. He likes to eat any kind of rice but sticky rice is his favorite. Josh thinks it's because he is Asian.
You don't wash your dishes in your underoos and boats? Hmmmm.....
He loves to help out. "Help me Max" is what he usually says when he wants to help his poor little mommy out. So I let him wash the sink from time to time. He loves it and asks for "more soap pease".
After seeing Josh putting his tie on, Max picked one out for himself.
The two cutest guys ever!! We didn't even plan for them to match either.
I love these two pictures so I thought I would post both. Josh and Max are my guys and I love them both so much. Watching them play together or just hang out is the greatest.
With this new baby coming, I'm just thinking about how much is going to change. Hopefully Max will be okay with having a baby brother or sister.

Finally

This last weekend we got to go up to Sweitzer and spend some time as a family. We got to go with our cousins and we had a great time!! Everyone went snowboarding or skiing and they all enjoyed their time on the slopes.... except the babies and the pregnant ladies that is. :) Josh said that it was probably the most fun snowboarding he has had in a long time.
It was so nice outside that Max got to play for almost 2 hours in the snow without really getting cold or complaining. That is a new record I think.
Max loved hanging out with his new buddy. Max was just showing him the "nose" aka snow.
It was busy up there because it was Toyota ski free day.

video

Okay about this video. Ever since Max was teeney tiny he has done this giggling thing. I have never been able to get it on video though. Everytime he saw the camera he would instantly stop and do something else. So FINALLY I got it and I am super excited!! Simple pleasures of my life I know. I crack up everytime I see it!

Great Friends

Angie, me, Tiffany, KayLynn, and Jennie (Jande and Melissa were there to but not sure why they weren't in the photo)

This past Saturday I was so excited to go to my good friend Tiffany's baby shower. It was great to see her and her cute little belly. I am one of those people that can't help but rub prego bellies. Hopefully she didn't mind me doing it everytime she came around. It was so great to catch up with old friends and see where they are today. I miss them so much and love every opportunity to chit chat with them. Tiffany is due the middle of March can you believe that? She looks great doesn't she? Well thanks girls for a great visit and can't wait to see you soon!

Something Smells Good!

This morning Max was playing in his room really quiet and I thought to myself, "Wow, he is really having a good time in there". I didn't think anything of it until he so sweetly walks out of his room with baby powder all over himself while holding out the powder as to tell me, "I need more, I'm all out!" I couldn't help but smile and laugh. He is so stinkin cute that I couldn't get mad. Plus I was a little relieved that he didn't find the bum cream instead. Sometimes I forget that he isn't a little tiny baby anymore and that he can reach things off his changing table. All in all everything cleaned up well and Max smells good!

I told him to smile and this is what I got. Silly Max!

Not to bad now that I look back on it. Good thing it was a travel size bottle!

Time Flies!

I don't have a recent picture of just Josh and I so I thought I would post a great picture of my men!

On December 20th was our 6th Anniversary. It is crazy to think that we have been together for 12 years! I love Josh so much for so many reasons. I love him for being so patient with me and teaching me that my perspective isn't the only one. Whether he works 14+ hour days or is up with Max all night long, he always has a kiss and a hug for me. These past 6 years have been great, not always easy but that's what makes things interesting right? :) I don't think I have ever met anyone who doesn't like Josh. He is funny, caring and always is ready to help anyone who needs it. Josh is also an AWESOME dad! When Max and I are at each other and need a break, Josh steps in and shows me how it's done. He makes changing a diaper on an active little boy look easy. I love watching them play together. Max can't wait for his daddy to come home. I'm so glad Josh married me! I love you Josh!!!!

Bye Bye Mexico!

Well I guess I am okay to post the last of our trip to Mexico. Yes, I am still in a state of depression. It was just so nice to be over there and away from the cold. Knowing that the biggest decision you have is whether or not you are going to order a drink by the pool during the morning happy hour or the afternoon one.

He only took one nap by the pool in three weeks. We usually had to go up to the room.
Jason, Jade, and Josh all tan and happy.
I love this family photo!

Max was exhausted from all that swimming. He was attached to Josh like this pretty much for the whole vacation.
The girls! Amanda, Tiffany, Megan, Graycie, Kim and I. Three of us are pregnant too.
Max was kind of sad one day so Josh thought some ice cream would make him happy. After Max was already digging in the cashier said, "That will be $7.00usd" Are you freaking kidding me? Max did enjoy it and ate most of it. I made sure not much fell on the ground.

The last couple of weeks there we did a lot of hanging out and walking into town. Max continued to work on his speed and got faster and faster by the day. It was fun to watch Max in the pool. He continued to jump off anything that was high and dangerous. He loved the fact that he could swim by himself and be like the big boys.

Josh, Max, Jade and Graycie waiting patiently for their churro.
I love this smile!Does this look safe? Max kept wanting Josh to let him go. This was when we went to Lovers Beach and we were playing on the Pacific side, which is rougher and usually I don't like Josh to go out in.
I love this picture! Look at how high he is. No fear at all!!

We went to the arcade one night and Max loved it. My battery was going dead and so I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked to. Max thought it was pretty fun to just run around like a crazy man while daddy followed and put coins in the machines. Josh would tickle all the kids as they went by. They all thought that was pretty fun!

We rented a couple of cars and headed to the waterfalls. It is beautiful up there. Yes we had to hike back into it and yes I was sore the following day but it was worth it. Josh carried Max the whole way and that was a good thing because I had a hard enough time keeping myself from slipping and tripping. When we got there the boys and some of the girls went cliff jumping. I would have done it too but the water was so cold. :) Max wanted to jump and so Josh had to be on Max control at all times. The whole gang starting from the left.

One of the few good pictures of us together. Do you see all that granite around us? Beautiful.

After we were done we went to the zoo. Max loved seeing all the animals. There were two lions, an older one and a young one. The zoo is ran by donations and the guy taking care of the animals came over to show off his lions. The manager was a nice guy and didn't have many teeth but had the biggest smile. He called for the younger lion and he came running. They played hide-n-seek for awhile. It was kind of funny to watch them play together.

The older lion.

One of the coolest things I got to do was go up in an ultralight. It was scary but than again exciting. The view you had up that high was awesome. Josh was going to go but it got to dark and the guy would have got a big fine. We went up at sunset and to see the seals swimming by Lovers beach and see all the cool resorts and houses. Even though I got 11 mosquito bites waiting around to go, it was worth it!
Up, up and away!
Max waving to his mommy as she takes flight.

But the highlight of my trip was to spend 3 solid weeks together with my family. Not to often do we get to just hang out together. When we are home Josh works a lot and is gone most of the day. So it was great to know that we could spend that much time together. When we got home, Josh was back to work early the next morning.

We had a great time in Cabo and hope we can go back.

Tuesday, December 8, 2009

Well we have been here in Cabo San Lucas for a week now. I promised my family that I would send some pictures their way and so here they are mom and dad. We are really enjoying our time in the sun and with family. Max is mastering his swimming skills and will often just leap off anything into the water. We have went swimming every day which is awesome because it really wears a kid out! He is averaging 2 hour naps each day. One day it was 3 1/2 hours!!
We have also gone down to the beach a lot and Max loves to fling sand! I don't think anyone else thinks that is fun but we just move him away from the crowds. Other than a little sand in the mouth and in the diaper he is really loving just digging in the sand! He is loving going out in the ocean with dad too. I don't go out there because I just don't trust that I will float!!! :)

Also at our hotel there are a lot of fish and HUGE bird cages. Max loves to go and visit the fish! The boys have even named a couple of the big ones. The other day Max got to release a baby turtle into the ocean and that was SO cool!!! Needless to say I forgot the camera!!!! The only stinkin day that I didn't bring it! That was the day he took a 3 1/2 hour nap and it was getting cooler outside so I didn't think we would be out there that long. Well hopefully I can borrow Aunt Sandy's camera and download those pictures. It was cute though because he was yelling, "Go, Go, Go!" to them as they were running to the water. They said they usually never release turtles in December but they had 140 eggs hatch. The babies were only 4 hours old before they went into the water. Plus it takes them 15 years to come back to the beach to lay eggs.

Also this past week we have learned that Max doesn't like to play with others that well. Poor little Ajah, who just turned 1, is constantly getting pushed down or hit by our Max. Plus whenever little Jade comes around we will hear Max yell (like a little girl). Jet is his only exception as a friend and everyone else he treats not so nice. We are hoping his social skills improve. So needless to say we have a little down time away from everyone and this is what we do.

Josh hasn't read a book for so long and really got into Uncle Cliffs book. He couldn't put it down. We miss everyone at home but are glad to be here in sunny Mexico for a bit more. We have to go hit the beach so I better go.
